Good morning everyone and happy Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrate the holiday. To those who don't - happy Turkey Day anyway. We have one of those spectacular Texas mornings today. It's a chill 28 deg. F outside, a light dusting of frost, and absolutely no wind (no chill factor). There's not a cloud in the sky, no dust because the front blew everything out, and the sky is a brilliant blue. The day promises to remain gorgeous throughout.
Plans are to go spend TG with my little brother and his family at their house. We leave here shortly so we can be there before noon in case Joyce's 2 boys get lost. A-yup, they actually asked to be included in a 'family' event for a change. Shocker!! Needless to say, Joyce is thankful for that.
Who knows what this 4-day holiday will bring. We are going downtown on Saturday for the Parade of Lights down Main Street and the official Christmas Tree lighting. Rumor has it that The Great American Train Show is at the Convention Center this weekend, too. So lots of possibilities.
I think I found a very special X-mas present for my little brother, too. A friend at work and I were talking and he highly recommended a book entitled _Ghost_Rider:_Travels_on_the_Healing_Road_ by Neil Peart, the drummer for Rush. In less than a year, Neil lost his 19-yr. old daughter and wife - which led him on a 55,000 mile motorcycle journey throughout North America to grieve and heal. Not that my brother needs that kind of healing, but he and The Swan (his white GoldWing) journey across the southwest 2-3 times a year to renew his spirit. This should be right down his alley.
Well, I need to go help the cook and then load up, so I'll let y'all go. Best wishes to everyone, and I'll talk at y'all later..
