Well - went and did it yesterday. I'm now the proud owner of a pair of bi(cycle)focals.

Really strange having this funny line to have to look over. Have to get used to not taking my glasses off to read now, too. Still have to take them off for computer work as there is no intermediate focus. Distance or reading, but nothing in between. I can live with that. At least I don't have to fight with those godawful "progressive" lenses. I could not use them as I look out of the corner of my eye at my side mirrors when I drive and cannot handle the progressive lens' peripheral "blind spots". Hmm - with bifocals, does that mean I'm six-eyes instead of four-eyes?

Later y'all - time for dinner and then As Time Goes By comes on.

Side Note: That reminds me - I saw a really cute movie earlier today with Judy Dench called The Last of the Blonde Bombshells. Really good show.

2nd Side Note: I can't believe they've re-done Tuck Everlasting.

I just got mine earlier this year and I'm younger than you! Phhfft! :grins: I've got the kind with the line too. The doc said it would actually be easier for me to deal with if I have to switch back and forth alot with near and far focus.
I've worn glasses for nearsightedness since I was 10 years old. The bifocals could have waited a little while longer if it weren't for the fact that I do so much closeup work with jewelry and such and on the computer alot. I feel so ooooollllddd.

My problem is walking around. I keep thinking that there's a raindrop of something on my glasses ( and I HATE that). That and I get caught out having to take my glasses off to handle the mid-range stuff.

I can definitely identify with the ooooolllllddddd part though, Ari.
