An August Weekend
Jul. 29th, 2003 11:19 amA-yup - I talked to Rhyon last Friday evening and we're a go for meeting up this coming Saturday, August 2nd, in Houston. They had a lot of stuff going on this past weekend, but he said he had no plans at all for the upcoming weekend. And a bonus - my youngest son, Neill, was sitting right beside him so I got to talk to him for a bit and he also wants to come along. Gonna have to pick up one of those disposable camera's and get some shots of the 2 of them - well, 3 if you count Rhyon's girlfriend.
Lots of advice from my father about how to handle things - there's advice from Joyce - there's advice from my youngest brother. Everyone's got an opinion, a comment, words of wisdom - everyone's so hopeful for a grand reunion and a resumption of parental contact. Well that'll happen of course, but who knows what the boys want? Though they've expressed an interest in getting together there is still a 9 year hiatus to be dealt with. How will they take that? What kind of penance, if any, are they going to exact? Not that they're to blame for that of course.
Joyce raked me over pretty good Friday last about all the things she did for her kids, or would do for mine if she was me. She just cannot understand - even after I point blank explained to her what I'm feeling about it all.
With crossed fingers - I'm hoping for the best, but gearing up for the worst.
