Thanks for all the wonderful thoughts and good wishes. They are much appreciated.
Just got a call from my father who said, "Well, after a month's worth of bad news dogging our trail are you ready for some good news for a change?"
I said, "Okay, what's happening?"
They did another MRI on my mother this morning and came in to talk to her. She was so alive and in such good shape and spirits that they have decided to go ahead and schedule her for surgery first thing tomorrow morning to clear the carotid arteries in her neck, thereby reducing the risk of TIA occurrences.
My mother's response - "It's about damn time someone finally decided to do something!"
Way to go Mom! What an about face. Dad said he hasn't seen her this animated since all this started. She's cranked up for it ... the doctor's are up for it. So tomorrow morning, they take care of at least one problem. I'm very much relieved that she appears to really care about what's going on and decided to participate. Of course, that doesn't dismiss the Stage 5 cancer concern, but at least it's a step in the right direction attitude-wise for her. [ holding up a score of 8.5 for Mom. ]
