The State of EIS
Nov. 25th, 2003 01:05 pmIt's been 8 months now and I'm loving the transfer to UNT. One Go-Live down (CR) and one to go (HR). While I'm busier than I've been in a long time, the work environment (particularly my co-worker/teammates) are really great. Much more sociable than at the Health Science Center. The day passes so quickly that I hardly notice that I work from DARK:30AM to DARK:30PM or later. Of course, my social obligations are suffering, but it's so nice to be challenged on a daily basis again. And we finally got DSL at home, so now when I'm on-call I can check things from the house instead of driving into the office all the time.
Got a chance to take some time off (more on that in a minute or two) over the last week and a half, but it felt good to get back. Now, of course, it's T-Giving week and things are rather slow as everyone takes the whole week off. Therefore, On-Call responsibilities this week should be minimal. Next week though - Tools Upgrade ... the next round of Patches and Fixes ... and this goes on straight through 'til March 2004.
