Wanted: Hot Fiddle Player

Sometime, somewhere, on one of the few Email List's I've been subscribed to over the years somebody made mention of, I think, a female fiddle player. Not your typical fiddler either. This girl can really make the strings hum and bow thrum. For some reason, I don't recall them being a strictly folk music artist, although they could probably do that - but kind of a jazzy, rock 'n roller, hard drivin' folk-rocker type or something along those lines.

I can't for the life of me remember who it was. I'm not even sure who it was who was singing her praises. I'd probably remember it if I heard her name again - thought it was Natalie McMaster, but it doesn't 'feel' right. I keep thinking it was yendi or JA or Thomas the Rhymer or Chuck L. who made the recommendation, but it is beyond me to remember now.

Suggestions anyone?

Natalie is certainly hot, but I think of her as pretty trad. Maybe Vanessa Mae?

Vanessa Mae is certainly a hot violin player but she is a bit more on the classical end of things.. I highly recommend her as well though!
