Road Rage Remedy: Nocturne for Piano, Op. 27: #2 in D-flat major by Frédéric Chopin

March of the Day: The British 8th by Alonzo "Zo" Elliot

The Worthless Word for the Day: astunomologist
[fr. Gk astunomos, city magistrate] policeman (nonce word coined by Burgess?)

"I never saw the necessity of an astunomologist on the team.[...] It comes from the Greek for policeman. Policeman sounds horrible, of course.'" - Anthony Burgess, The End of the World News (1983)

So I'm sitting here at the dentist's office as Annorien endures her first appointment w/ the oral surgeon. I have hours of fun ahead of me ... thankfully I have _Dark_Sleeper_ by Jeffrey Barlough along to keep me occupied.

Stupid dentists. She was supposed to pick up her partial yesterday but the lab screwed up ... so she gets to sit around for 10 days with 5 missing teeth. Now - won't that go over great if someone calls her in for a job interview? Stupid dentists.

You Are Fantasy / Sci Fi
You have an amazing imagination, and in your mind, all things are possible.
You are open minded, and you find the future exciting. You crave novelty and progress.

Compared to most people, you are quirky and even a bit eccentric. You have some wacky ideas.
And while you may be a bit off the wall, there's no denying how insightful and creative you are.

No surprise here.

... [livejournal.com profile] nineweaving and her command of language. It is such a treat to read her when she waxes - whatever you could classify it. She was in Montreal for WorldCon and wrote the following about some of what she experienced:

[...]The sunset on the journey north:  we saw the full disk of the sun, like the moon's face but perilous; and as that went, a band of celestial creamsicle with ruchings in the fiercest high aniline fashion of fuschia and plum violet.

Plus, I am ashamed to admit that I completely missed she has a new book out, Cloud & Ashes, set in the same fantasy realm as Moonwise. Huh, some fan I am.
